HIGHLIGHTS

China Beijing International Acupunture Training Center (CBIATC) is affiliated to the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of China and the Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS). The Training Center serves as an acupuncture training organization for foreigners in Beijing, affiliated to the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and CACMS. The CACMS is a TCM organization with a large scope, a variety of disciplines, modern equipment and backed by solid scientific research.

Overview

The China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre (CBIATC) was set up at the request of the World Health Organization (WHO) and approved by the State Council of P.R.C. in 1975. Since its foundation it has been supported and administered by WHO, the Chinese government, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS). The (CBIATC) provides professional teaching and advanced services to foreign students, and health care professionals who wish to learn acupuncture.

On successful completion of either the Introductory or Advanced course participants will be awarded a certificate by the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. The China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is the highest TCM authority in China. The academy has 15 institutes and the institute of acupuncture and moxibustion is one of them. Where participants study is part of the acupuncture institute, this is one of the highest authorities in China and WHO collaborating centre of Traditional Chinese Medicine. One of the main benefits for completing studies at this centre is that it is sponsored by China State Administration of TCM. This is the highest TCM government agency in China.

Introductory Course of Acupuncture and Moxibustion

In the first week theoretical study both in the morning and in the afternoon, afterwards, clinical training in the hospital during morning sessions and theoretical study in the classroom during the afternoons.


STUDY GOAL

Over this 3 Month course you will acquire a general understanding of the basic theory of TCM. Participants can apply Yin-Yang and 5 Elements to know physiological and pathological process of body. Participants will understand preliminarily Zang-fu theory, and the physiological functions of the Zang-fu organs. They will discover the differences to understand body physiology and pathology given by TCM and Western Medicine. 

Participants should at the end of the course have a preliminary grasp of basic theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, understand running courses of fourteen meridians and corresponding relations with Zang-fu organs and the distribution rule of twelve regular meridians. Participants will also know some manipulation techniques for four diagnostic methods of TCM, and their diagnosis. 

During the course the main study will involve the location of points, completely grasp 120 common points including their location, indications of points and their clinical application and method. Acupuncture techniques such as insertion, manipulation, retaining and withdrawal of needles will be practiced. Application of theoretical knowledge in the analysis of diseases and their diagnosis, plus the differentiation of treatment of 25 commonly seen clinical diseases will be practiced. 

Advanced Course of Acupuncture and Moxibustion

Textbook: International Acupuncture Textbooks (Four books including Basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine; Diagnostics of traditional Chinese medicine; Meridians and acupoints; Acupuncture therapeutics)

STUDY GOAL

By the end of this Advanced 3 Month course participants will be able to systematically understand the basic theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine ( TCM ), apply yin-yang and five elements to completely know the physiological and pathological processes of body, know the thinking of TCM including whole entity and treatment according to differentiation. 

Participants will be able to systematically know Zang-fu theory, understand physiological functions of Zang-fu organs, find out differences to understand body physiology and pathology given by TCM and Western medicine, grasp properties of five elements of five Zang and six fu organs, so as to further apply relations of five elements to analyze and understand physiological and pathological relations among Zang-fu organs. 

Participants can grasp basic theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, completely know structure and functions of meridians systems based on understanding fourteen meridians. Participants can take more practice of diagnosis based on studying four diagnostic methods of TCM, further know more professional tongue and pulse diagnosis, so that participants can adequately collect symptoms of patients for differentiation based on completely grasping skill of diagnosis. 

During the course 250 points including location, functions, indications, clinical application and method will be learnt. Participants also learn new application of points on modern acupuncture clinic. Based on skilfully grasping acupuncture techniques such as insertion, manipulation, retaining and withdrawal of needle, participants will study various techniques of reinforcing and reducing of acupuncture. 

They will also learn techniques of moxibustion, cupping and other methods, ear acupuncture and scalp acupuncture including location, stimulation method and clinical application. Specifically participants will study various differentiation methods with core on eight principles differentiation and Zang-fu differentiation, learn meridian differentiation and apply these methods to fully know diseases and guide acupuncture treatment. 

Based on skilfully applying basic theory of TCM studied before, participants can grasp ability to differentiate and treat 40 commonly seen clinical diseases and some difficultly treated disorders including points prescription and methods.

Is the Director of the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center, President of Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Director of WHO Collaborating Center of Traditional Medicine. He heads a professional team with more than 30 years' of experience in teaching acupuncture. This experience has created an excellent teaching team. The teachers and translators will help students surmount language obstacles to learn Chinese culture and experience the marvellous traditional Chinese medicine.

With the unique methods and plans as well as seven teaching languages, the teaching at this training center uses traditional and multimedia aids. In addition it is characterised by the organic combination of theory and practice, at the individual requests, and with people models for acupoint-locating.

The China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center

This is one of the best places in China for westerners and Chinese to study Acupuncture. The training center offers a number of training courses based on the individual needs of participants. These courses can be offered in six different foreign languages and students can practice in more than ten cooperating hospitals.


The Introductory course

Essentials of Chinese Acupuncture is adopted as the textbook. In this three-month course the participants will be able to acquire a general understanding of the basic theory of TCM and a preliminary mastery of the fundamentals of acupuncture and moxibustion in relation to basic manipulation techniques. They will learn the locations of about 120 commonly used points, and the treating methods for about 25 common diseases by applying syndrome differentation according to the theory of meridians.


The Advanced course

Chinese Acupuncture is adopted as a textbook. Participants will learn tongue and pulse diagnosis, syndrome differentiation according to the theory of the Zang-fu organs, compound needling techniques, application of specific points, and the treatment of common diseases. They will acquire a thorough understanding of the meridian system and a mastery of the locations and indications of about 250 points. Consequently, they will be able to treat about 40 common diseases with the principle of differentiation fo syndromes.

To book your place on this course there is a standard booking/application fee of $100 USD. This should be paid in advance of your arrival. 

The prices for both the beginner and advanced acupuncture course only includes the course itself. Accommodation, food and any other expenses should be budgeted for by participants.
