One of the best places in Phuket to train Muay Thai. The trainer/student ration is really convenient, so you get a lot of attention from the trainers. The rooms are big, clean and are worth the price. The fact that they are next to the training facilities really helps get you in the mood for training. Room Tip: Just speak directly with the gym;s manager and he will help you with everything.

I might have caught this camp at a bad time. It was good - with 1 to 1 included for 4-5 rounds with a trainer. Long warm up - repetitive. Barely and sparring over the 3 days I trained. (There was a girl who also wanted to spar - same weight) This is a friendly place. I felt it was very average. Was expecting more. It has the potential to be good - as the trainers are lovely. But needs - More sparring Overall - camp has 3 great rings. Large (part appears under renovation)

One of the few remaining gyms in Phuket where training doesn't seem bureaucratic and money centred. Instead you can Become part of the family here that sees multiple students and fighters returning year after year for extended periods of time. The gym is large with modern amenities and facilities. The manager is young, but extremely friendly and able to help with anything inside or outside the gym. He trains and has a fight history which is probably why this gym is so fantastic. He truly cares about the gym and doesn't seem concerned with money unlike so many older American/ western gym owners. I picked Lion due to reading a similar review to this one and have stayed for almost a year now. I honestly cannot recommend this gym enough. You won't be disappointed!

This Muay Thai Camp is a very good tourist, fitness training Muay Thai Camp. The atmosphere is relaxed however not very authentic if you wish to get intensive quality Muay Thai fight training. The Environment of the school is definitely one of its highlights. As a non-intimidating relaxed training camp it works well. But its certainly not ideal for hard core Muay Thai students. Good price, excellent environment, good hygiene. I'd recommend it for tourists and those wishing to get in better shape.

"Honestly, the first thing that attracted me to Lion was the exceptionally cheap price. I shopped around alot you definitley get the best value for money compared with any gym in phuket. The training is great with numerous activities to suit different needs, there are so many different classes to chose from each with its own benefits and also if you miss one (which is hard if you live at the gym-extra bonus for motivation!!).

Anyone who's a fighter or wanting to get fit and motivated should definitely think about coming to Lion. There is a great atmosphere and everyone is always up for abit of good sparring which is vital. Everyone is friendly and motivating."

"Just on my way home from my near to a year of travelling. What a time I've had especially at the best muay thia camp in Thailand. I have loved every minute of it, even if the training was more than i could handle sometimes. I have learn alot from the 6 weeks i stayed at Lion and hopefully I can experience it again next year and train even harder (if possible). But most of all the social side is unexplainable, the people and expecially the trainers (Nook) (Amir) are the funniest, most enjoyable people to train with and this makes the gym what it is..

THANK YOU LION MUAY THAI"

"My time at Lion was everything I had hoped for. Hard training, great people, and an incredible learning experience. I have been back in the states for a few days, and I am already planning a 6-12 month stay at Lion in September. I wished I didn't have to come back to the states! It was an incredible experience, and I met some of the most genuinely friendly people while I was there.

What was equally impressive about Lion is the trainers. They pushed you hard, nutured your strengths, drilled weaknesses and actually cared how you performed! I will be back to Lion very soon and would recommend Lion to anyone who was looking for serious Muay Thai training, looking to compete, wanting to meet great people, just looking to lose weight, or just an awesome story to tell about your Thailand holiday.

Thanks again and see you soon!"
